Game Recap

Great performance by the Skyline Falcon Soccer Family while facing the challenges and pressures of the second round of playoffs against a team who, as expected, made it difficult at times throwing the Skyline Falcons off their rhythm at the time of transitioning and distribution both defensively as well as offensively.
The Falcons once again dominated the game for the most part showing a nice level of composure, dedication, perseverance, and heart at a rate that had not yet been seeing in the history of the program. It was great to watch the Falcons play with such heart and enthusiasm!
The Falcons threaten the opponent’s goal a total of 7 times forcing the goalie to make crucial saves in order to keep their team in the game. Falcon goalie, Diego Chavez, made two crucial saves, which also kept our team in the game giving us the chance and opportunity to end with the best result at the end of the day.
After a great deal of Falcon defense and numerous efforts made by the offensive power, it was Cooper Welsh, at minute mark 63, who made the assist by kicked a through aerial ball behind the opponent’s defensive line up giving Jose Medrano a chance to run past the defense to challenge the ball and successfully beat the goalie who was on his way out placing a solid header over and into the net to score the goal that gave the Falcons the historical win to send them into quarter finals for the first time.
Once again especial thanks to our Skyline High family and community of fans and supporters who consistently encouraged and supported the team helping the team get the win making it even more meaningful because of the historical fact of moving on to the state quarter finals!
Extremely proud of the entire team and the program and for their accomplishments so far!!! Super excited to get ready to face what is ahead when the Skyline Falcons travel to go against the #1 ranked, Air Academy, this Saturday in Colorado Springs at a time that is still to be decided.
We will try to get a spirit bus to take fans and supporters to go be there push and pift the team to continue to make history. More info to be announced soon.
GO FALCONS!!!

Game Recap

Skyline Falcons earned the 2017-18 Tri-Valley Conference Championship in a well earned battle against Holy Family in the last game of the regular season. The Falcons had a sting performance, especially in the second half after scoring only one goal very early in the game at about the two minute mark when Austin Gillies, once again, took the ball away from a defender creating his own opportunity on an open net executing his chance to put the Falcons on the board. The rest of the first half was a bit uneventful while the opponent made it difficult to possess the ball and handle it the Falcon style rolling it and at their feet consequently not having that many opportunities. Second half came around and once again the Falcons found the net early to put a second goal in thanks to a well elaborated play between Nathan Webb assisting David Quiroz who made the right run at the right time. Faolan Moore was assisted by Kevin Gutierrez to get the third goal in on another well secure play ending with a shot by Faolan from the top of the penalty area and in the back of he net. To put the forth and last goal of the night was the same player who started the scoring, Austin Gillies after he dribbled through two defenders, tried a shot, rebounded off of the goalie having a second chance to put it away and he did.
The remaining of the second half was more of the Falcons style dominating and doing what they have done well this season, which is play good consistent Soccer!
Huge thanks to our fans and family who were present at the game cheering and supporting our Skyline High School Men’s Soccer Family!
Congratulations Boys! The Coaching staff and the Skyline community is extremely proud of each and everyone of you!
