The Skyline High School Track and Field team had a strong showing and scored 78 to finish 3rd place at the Boulder County Championships on Saturday at Everly Montgomery Field. For the boys, senior sprinter Braden Kram was names Athlete of the Meet after winning both the 100m (11.45) and the 200m (23.05). Kram also anchored the Falcon’s 4x100m relay team to victory in a new school record time of 43.61 seconds (Moses Rivera, Jack Wathen, Kyle West, Kram). Kram finished the meet off by also anchoring the 4x400m relay team to a 3rd place finish (Wathen, West, Andrew Brown, Kram). Jack Wathen brought home 1st place points in the High Jump (6′ 1″) placed 2nd in the 400m and was a member of the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams. Kyle West had a huge day finishing runner-up to Kram in both the 100m (11.57) and 200m (23.15). Kyle was also part of the record setting 4x100m relay team and 4x400m relay team. Other top placers for the Falcons: Henry Carlson 4th place in the Discus and 6th place in the Shot Put.
The Skyline girls also had a strong showing in the sprints. The girls 4x100m relay team (Abigail Stoops, Kalen Niedling, Sophia Lindauer, Whitney Parkinson) placed 4th in a season best time of 52.38. Parkinson placed 6th in the 100m (13.09), followed closely by Niedling in 7th place in a time of 13.13 seconds. Freshman Ashayla Powers brought in 4th place points in the High Jump by clearing 4′ 11″. Powers was followed by teammates who cleared 4’11”.
