Skyline Falcons Varsity defeated Frederick 7-2 on Saturday.
Skyline Falcons Varsity took an early lead in the first inning. Avery Riddoch grounded out, scoring one run.
Frederick evened things up at two in the bottom of the first inning. An error scored one run for Frederick.
Skyline Falcons Varsity took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth there was an error, scoring one run, Caleb Zietlow singled off of Elkins, driving in one run, and Nate Higgins laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run.
Jonah Chrisman earned the win for Skyline Falcons Varsity. He went seven innings, giving up two runs, four hits, and striking out eight. Elkins took the loss for Frederick. He threw six innings, surrendering six runs, eight hits, and striking out two.
Skyline Falcons Varsity had eight hits in the game. Zietlow and James Canar each collected multiple hits for Skyline Falcons Varsity. Canar and Zietlow each managed two hits to lead Skyline Falcons Varsity.
